過去、人類の歴史をふり返れば愚行が私刑とか集団殺人とかいう極端の一種に走った例は数限りなく存在する。喫煙者差別もついには魔女狩りのレベルにまで達したが、差別する方はこれを愚行とは思っていないのだから始末が悪い。宗教とか正義とか善とかいう大義名分がある時ほど人間の残虐行為がエスカレートする時はないのだ。
